Microsoft participates develop ARM Servers
Microsoft has joined a new project to accelerate the development of ARM-based servers, which means products such as Windows Server and Hyper - V version of the ARM possibility is under cultivation.

The company has participated in the development of the specification to standardize ARM server platform, so that software developers can create a product that can run on ARM in server from various manufacturers.

On Wednesday during the Open Compute Project Summit in San Jose California also announced a number of other companies that participate and support the ARM servers, including Linux developer Red Hat, Suse, and Canonical, the server manufacturer Hewlett-Packard and Dell and chip manufacturers AMD, AppliedMicro, Cavium, Texas Instruments, and Cytric.

According to PC Advisor, Microsoft participation is quite interesting considering the company had never discussed any plans regarding the development of the ARM version of the server software, despite offering the tablet version of the OS is Windows RT ARM.

A spokesman for Microsoft said that Microsoft participated in the ARM industry forum initiated by Server Base System Architecture, as part of a continuing effort to provide solutions that customers want through cooperation with industry partners.

ARM server chip is considered as an alternative low-power x86 chips suitable for web and data analysis workloads. Most of the software developed for this system is by far the open source software.
