In 2006, CNET Networks acquired UrbanBaby. David returned to the US. Last position when it is the chief technology officer (CTO) at UrbanBaby. After the acquisition, the same year, David stepped down and builds his own consulting firm. The company was named Davidville. One of the projects he's working on Davidville is a simple blogging service that evolved into Tumblr.
Before Yahoo announced the purchase Tumblr, the blogging service has been worth more than 200 million U.S. dollars. However, it did not make David's life in luxury. Day-to- day, David would rather drive a bicycle from his home in Brooklyn to the region Tumblr headquarters in New York.
