Apple began popularizing the use of the fingerprint on the phone through the iPhone 5S, HTC followed a similar move. But Samsung seems to have a different way.

iPhone 5S is not the first mobile phone that uses a fingerprint scanner technology, but his presence seemed to be a new trend in the gadget industry. The proof, HTC Max also launched with similar technology.

However, the use of fingerprint for security reasons does not seem to be followed by Samsung. According to the site Patent Bolt, Samsung has just patented retinal scanning technology that can be used on mobile phones.

Retinal scanner itself is believed to be safer than the fingerprint. Identity recognition process is also claimed to be faster, i.e. less than 2 seconds.

Eye scanner users also claimed to be more comfortable to wear because there is no physical contact between users with their Smartphone. This technology also can still work well even though the owner was wearing glasses. Unfortunately not yet known when this technology can be implemented into the phone.
