Does Google Really provide Free Android Licence?. Android again dominate the global smartphone market share in 2013. In the third quarter of 2013, penetration has reached 82 percent worldwide.

One factor could be as large as Google today is its operating system can be used for free by all vendors for phones, tablets, or other devices.

Many consider if Android is 100 percent free to use by vendors. However, the facts speak otherwise. Google mentioned ask the vendor of smartphone to pay for certain licenses are wearing.

The Android operating system can be used by all devices. But without the other Google services , such as Maps , Gmail , and Play Store , the device is not exactly smart as can be used for almost anything .

So that smartphone have these functions, the vendor must pay a license to Google. Important applications are packaged in a license Google Mobile Service (GMS), as did Microsoft with Windows and Windows Phone.

GMS license imposed for each device. According to sources obtained by The Guardian, Thursday (01/23/2014), the vendor must spend 75,000 dollars for each 100,000 tablet devices using GMS.

The source also said that the activation of one million Google Android devices that uses the GMS every day. The fees charged can vary for each device, depending on the number and capacity of the devices made device makers.

Until now, Google does not provide clear information about the fees charged to license GMS.

From the vendor side, they felt that the process to obtain a license GMS is a time-consuming and complicated. Because of that, there are some vendors who put up illegally Google Play. However, Google has chosen to turn blind eye. Google said a source to The Guardian does not have a specialized workforce to make policy on the GMS license.
