Having trouble finding a good SEO friendly directory list? You are not alone! Many well established website directories can take months to review your submission requests, and most of these established web directories have strict listing standards.
Below you will find our List of the Top Free Web Directories. Most of the free web directories on this list are very good and popular.

1. DMOZ www. dmoz.org
One of the original directories that was created in 1998. The site is run by a group of volunteer editors. This free directory is a "must submit". The SEO and traffic rewards are very good if you happen to get a listing. Most sites do not get listed and many of the sites that do take years.
2. Link Centre www.linkcentre.com
Well categorized and organized. The site is very well-established. The site has existed as a directory since December of 1997. Registration is required. They do not provide enough information to allow us to to determine if free submissions are actively being listed.
3. Little Web Directory www.littlewebdirectory.com
This isn't the most powerful free directory on the net but the site has been consistently approving our free submissions since March of 2008. The directory has a very strong category structure. They accept deep link submissions for free. A disadvantage is that they have sooo many listings.
We suspect that they are automatically approving sites. A quick review of their listings show some sites in the wrong categories but the general quality of listings seem pretty good. They must have a way of eliminating the editing sites after the fact. They are actively adding new listings. There are some gaps in the editing although overall the quality and categorization of the listings is good.
4. All Business Directory www.allbusinessdirectory.biz
A well-established, uniquely designed business directory that appears to be very well taken care of. They have been consistently adding new listings since at least mid 2012. The directory itself has been around since 2005.
5. The Great Directory www.thegreatdirectory.org
A long-time directory with a unique category structure. They have been actively adding new listings for the last year. They do a very good job of editing submissions. No deep links allowed with a free listing.
6. Exact Seek www.exactseek.com
A well categorized site that has been around since the year 2000. I like the clean, fast, no nonsense approach. They have recently added a "no follow" attribute to many of their subcategories. Some categories may even gain from the attribute but not all. They are part of the Jayde network. 7. A Big Dir www.abigdir.com
The site has been around as a directory since mid 2006. They accept deep links as part of their free submissions. They have consistently listed our submissions between March 2011 and January 2012.
8. Infignos www.Infignos.com
Well organized directory. The site is focuses mostly on the United States but does allow you to enter International listings. The site is well-established, having been around since March of 2002. Registration is required.
9. DirectoryWind www.directorywind.com
A 3-year old directory with an original category structure. They have been consistently adding new listings for years. Note: Sep 21, 2011 - There are 3 other directories hosted on the same IP (of of them are free general directories).
10. ADD-PAGE www.add-page.com
A uniquely structured site that has been around for quite a while. The site gives out automated approvals. The site is pretty clean so they do a pretty good job of periodically cleaning up bad sites. They do have a bunch of sitewide footer links, which is not great.
11. diroo www.diroo.org
The directory appears to be consistently adding new listings.
12. BPDIR www.bpdir.com
They have an original category structure but they urgently need to add more subcategories. They have been consistently adding our free submissions since November of 2010.
13. Jayde www.jayde.com
A popular, well-established site that has been a directory since 1998. They are listed here because they have been a free directory for so many years and will likely remain a free directory for years to come. They are pretty quick at adding submissions. You have a chance of getting on a decent listing page page but the odds are not good as some categories have over 1000 sites listed. Try to find a category that is not too crowded. I have free links that been listed for 4 or 5 years. They would be rated higher if they didn't bombard their submitters with email. I would recommend using a throwaway email address.
14. The SEO King www.theseoking.com
A well-established site that has been a directory since 2005. They have consistently added our free submissions over the last year. They accept deep link submissions (internal pages of your site) for free. Their editing could be better as they have adult sites in a whole bunch of categories, rather than in adult related categories.
15. A List Directory www.alistdirectory.com
A well-established, categorized and organized directory. The website was first crawled by archive.org in April 2006. They have been continuously adding free listings since we first started tracking them in the Fall of 2010.
