VIA accuses Asus steal USB Technology
VIA accuses Asus steal USB Technology. VIA Technology suing Asus Group, for allegedly stealing the company's intellectual property rights. VIA reveals, intellectual property rights associated with USB technology, including the host controller and device controller.
The company alleges Chewei Lin who is a former executive VIA, steal intellectual property firm when he and dozens of employees to move to Asmedia, one of Asus Group in 2007.

According to via, previously Asmedia not have expertise in the field of USB and anyone would be very difficult to produce a chip USB 3.0 without inheriting the intellectual property USB version 1.0, 1.1 and 2.0.

Taiwan prosecutors in court when the case is tried expressing , very difficult to develop and make chips could enter mass production in a short time or in just one year .

VIA claim damages at least 138 million USD at the same time to enter the name Chewei Lin, Jerry Shen Asmedia leader, Chang Chi vice president of R & D Asmedia and several other employees in the lawsuit list.

The company also demanded Asmedia to halt production and stop selling the allegedly infringing products.
