Intel immediately present 15 Cores chip
Intel Xeon E5 is Intel processor with the Highest reaching with 12-cores
Intel immediately present 15 Cores chip - War between the cores x86 chip manufacturers have eased since two years ago, because the processor is considered to have adequate performance. Intel on Thursday asserted, the company will release a 15 - cores server chips codenamed Ivytown based Ivy Bridge architecture.

Up to now Intel Xeon E5 v2 is Intel chip with the highest reaching 12 cores, which shipped in the third quarter of this year. 15 cores chip is intended for high-end servers, and will be installed at four to eight- socket servers. Generally this type of server is used to handle high-end computing systems such as databases and enterprise resource planning.

Increase the number of cores is an efficient way to increase the strength and reduce electricity consumption. So that chipmakers increase the number of cores, as an alternative to increase the CPU clock which makes chips need greater electrical energy.

One of the first multicore chips that were released in 2001 made based IBM Power4 architecture. The addition of core then spread to the chip manufacturer, when Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) showed off the first dual-core x86 chips in 2004.

While the 15-cores chips made Intel getting closer to AMD, which has put 16 cores on a chip Opteron 6300 processors. Send AMD Opteron 16-core chip code-named Interlagos first in 2011 and since then core chips are no longer growing. AMD Reportedly next year also has plans to release an x86 server chips with more than 16 cores.

Intel Ivytown been using 22 - nanometer manufacturing process and will be part of a line of Xeon E7 - v2 which has a code name Ivy Bridge - EX . But a spokesman for Intel does not provide information on when the chip will be released.
